Building, Fueling, and Strengthening the Ecosystem
What we offer
Grantmaking
We offer responsive, general operating grants to organizations to support their work.
Capacity Strenghtening
We partner with Four Freedoms Fund to offer our grant partners the type of support they need to sustain and expand their work.
Community Building
We partner with grant partners to co-create spaces that foster community-building, healing, and wellness.
2025 Funding
Between 2022 and 2024, we moved $4.1 million to organizations working on racial and immigrant justice. We are in the process of moving over $1.7 million in 2025.
Our grantmaking this year is taking place in three categories:
-
Renewal grants to current grantees working with Black migrant communities.
-
A pilot, one-year fund to resource organizations working with Black trans and gender nonconforming migrants. This fund is no longer receiving new applications.
-
Focused on resourcing smaller and/or emerging organizations working with Black migrant communities that we have not funded before. RFP is open through September 4.
Our Grantmaking Approach
We proudly support leaders, organizations, and movements for justice in the United States. We focus on Black migrant communities given the historic under-resourcing, the social, environmental and political conditions affecting them, and because we believe community-based leaders and organizations hold a part of the solution out of the difficulties at this moment.
We lead with a community-led, trust-based, participatory grantmaking model. What does this mean? It means community leaders with lived experience and political alignment decide where our funding goes. Our staff and consultants serve as stewards of the processes, provide the necessary information, and hold the broader container for these decisions to occur. We are grateful to the many community-led grantmaking funds like Emergent Fund, Third Wave, Trans Justice Funding Project, and others that have pioneered this approach to grantmaking.
